Academy21 - Alternative Education Provision

Organisation/Service Details

Organisation Details

Description of activity

Academy21, part of the Wey Education group of companies, is an online school offering high quality, cost-effective education for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils who are unable to attend mainstream school due to illness, anxiety, autism, school refusal or exclusion. Key Stage 2 courses can be delivered through our sister school, InterHigh Juniors and Key Stage 5 courses can be delivered through InterHigh sixth form.

We provide a unique opportunity for vulnerable pupils to receive the support of ‘live’ teaching by subject specialist teachers within an online classroom and we can offer an extensive range of courses, GCSEs, iGCSEs and A Levels. We work in close partnership with local authorities and schools to ensure the very best alternative provision is available for pupils. Referrals are normally made through the local school with final exams taken in the local school or local centre.

Schools are able to access real-time online data to check on attendance in lessons. Detailed information is available on individual pupil attainment ensuring our clients are kept fully informed of student progress.

We also provide pupils with additional resources and activities to consolidate their learning including a lesson library which pupils can access 24/7. All homework assignments are marked by our teachers with feedback provided.

This is one of the providers who are part of the RISE alternative provision in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. Please see the information on RISE for further details about how alternative provision can be accessed.
