Description of activity
Children's centres bring together a range of services, advice and guidance to support families and children under eight years old.
The children's centres in the borough offer a timetable of:
play sessions including sessions for children with additional needs
access to health visitor services
speech and language therapist drop in clinics
back to work and training advice and other more specialist support when needed.
Children's centres are a mainstream service that everyone can access. There are also some sessions which specifically support young children with additional needs. At Larchfield these include:
Speech and Language Therapy Drop in sessions
Stand out for Autism are also running a Stay and Play session on some Saturdays from 1.00-3.30pm. These sessions are open to children aged 0-11 years old and involve sensory play, art, fun construction, sensory room and outdoors play.
The centre also has a sensory room.
