Description of activity
Esteem is a place where you are made to feel comfortable and are given the opportunity to make new friends. You get to try new things, which can help to boost your self confidence.
The aim of the group is to bring young people together from across the area and different schools and colleges giving you the chance to make friends in a new setting.
Members of the group plan the sessions with support from staff to ensure the activities on offer are of interest to you.
There are junior sessions for 8-13 year olds and senior sessions for 13-19 year olds.
Junior session - Weekly on Wednesdays 6.00-7.30pm
Senior session - Weekly on Wednesdays 7.30-9.00pm
This group is open to young people with additional needs who are able to manage in a mainstream youth club and do not require one to one support. A referral needs to be completed prior to attendance - please contact Louise Hildreth using the contact details below for further information.

Description of Eligibility or Referral Criteria and Pathways (if applicable)
Maidenhead Junior Esteem is for 8-13 year olds and Maidenhead Senior Esteem for 13+ year olds. Places are available by referral only and a trial session.
Esteem provides positive activities for young people who are at risk of social isolation. This may be due to many reasons including; low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, long term medical conditions (such as M.E), bullying or family circumstances.
This group is open to young people with additional needs who are able to manage in a mainstream youth club and do not require one to one support. We would look at each young person's needs on a case by case basis.
Membership is by referral only, please contact the Youth Worker for an informal chat & referral form (where appropriate) will be sent out with session dates.
The Esteem groups work with a much higher staff to young people ratio when compared to our universal open accesss sessions. This allows each young person to be assigned a Key Worker who will monitor their progress & anxiety levels & liaise with the referrer & parents.
Risk assessments are carried out in advance of any off site trips taking place & all staff working the trip would be trained in off site activity safety.
We rely on parents/carers to complete are offsite medical consent forms fully and honestly to ensure we can provide the best support to their young person. It is the responsibility of parents/carers to update us of any changes
