Description of activity

Boat Trips

Disabled and disadvantaged children and adults can enjoy a day out on the river Thames. Each day trip involves a small group of passengers on a spacious, purpose-designed boat named ‘Rivertime’. Rivertime' is equipped with a ramp and a lift for wheelchairs. There is a toilet for the disabled and a large saloon with a sliding roof for sunny days. The boat can take 12 passengers (including carers).

Our main base is the River & Rowing Museum in Henley- on-Thames but at certain times of the year we can be found cruising the river in Oxford, Reading and Windsor. Please go to the website to see the schedule.

Bell Boating

Bell Boating is available for people with disabilties to take part in physical activity on the water in half day sessions on selected dates from May to September at Bisham Abbey Sailing and Navigation School. Bell Boats are like 2 Canadian canoes linked together with a centre platform

Boatability is all about engaging with water activities in a fun, safe and accessible way. Depending on the needs of your group we may go exploring for wildlife, for a treasure hunt up the river, play games in the Bell Boats or even race each other. Please see the website for further information.
