Description of activity

Berkshire Sensory Consortium Service (SCS) run a range of activities for children and young people with sensory impairment to share experiences, learn new skills, grow in confidence and have fun.

Chatty Monkeys Pre School Group East: Chalvey Grove Children's Centre, Chalvey Grove, Slough (Hearing and Visual Impairment Group), meets fortnightly
Chatty Monkeys Pre School Group West: Spencers Wood Village Hall for all families in Reading, Wokingham and West Berks (Hearing Impairment group), meets fortnightly
Busy Bees West: Building for the Future, Charles Annexe, Toutley Road, Wokingham, RG41 1QN (Visual Impairment Group) meets monthly
Attendance to Pre-school groups and Berkshire Sensory Consortium Service specific events need to be confirmed via your Berkshire Sensory Consortium Service teacher and are only open for Berkshire Sensory Consortium Service caseload. Please contact your Sensory Consortium Teacher for more information or go the social groups and activities page of the website.

Some of these activities are run in partnership with other organisations and voluntary groups. These include social activities for children with a visual impairment arranged by Berkshire Vision (formerly Berkshire County Blind Society). Please call Berkshire Vision on 0118 987 2803 for further information or look on their website. Please note that full Berkshire Vision membership is required to attend some of their events.

The service also holds events such as Transition picnics, Moving Forward evenings and parent events and courses. Please contact the service for more information.
