Description of activity
The Autism Groups runs several social groups based around the special interest of children and young people on the autism spectrum. The youngest age we cater for is 9 and the oldest is 25. Our clubs are aimed at mainstream ability.
We aim to provide an autism friendly environment which is interesting, predictable and consistent and staffed with knowledgeble and understanding workers.
Our clubs include
Fusion - Pokemon and other Gaming related fun for 14-25 year olds with a diagnosis
Arts and Crafts - various arts and craft activities for 14-25 year olds with a diagnosis
Console Gaming - Games and chat about Wii and Xbox games for 16-25 year olds with a diagnosis
GAP Club offers a range of all the above activities for younger members aged 9-13

All staff and volunteers are DBS checked and received regular Safeguarding training

Please contact Ruth for information about joining groups. Some groups have a waiting list.
All young people receive a home visit before starting and detailed information about the group, including pre-session mails confirming proposed activities sent to the parents.

£7.50 to £10.50 (Thanks to our funders we are also able to consider requests for free or subsidised places to families experiencing hardship.)

How can a child or young person with SEND take part in this activity
This is a service for young people with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition. If the young people have additional SEND we will work with families to identify the best way to engage with the child/young person.
