The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) has been offering School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) in Windsor and Maidenhead since 2002. We have continued to go from strength to strength providing high quality, local teacher training that benefits the education of the young people across the borough.
As a small provider, we pride ourselves on a bespoke training offer based around individual and personalised support. As a result, 100% of our trainees have achieved QTS and gained employment.
We are a local authority SCITT and work in close partnership with over 40 schools across the borough. This gives trainees the opportunity to train in a wide variety of settings including nursery, infant, junior, primary and secondary schools, as well as first, middle and upper schools.
The nature of RBWM being a small local authority enables strong networking across schools, clear understanding of local needs and access to a wide range of high-quality trainers.
In addition, RBWM SCITT work in partnership with Buckinghamshire New University and offer all trainees the opportunity to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE worth 60 masters credits for no additional cost.
Our vision
Our vision is to ensure the best possible education and outcomes for the young people of Windsor and Maidenhead through the recruitment of high calibre trainees who have the potential to be outstanding teachers.
We will achieve this by providing high quality training to ensure that the teachers of tomorrow can make a positive difference to the
lives and achievements of all the children they go on to teach.
