Parents and Carers in Partnership (PaCiP)

Organisation/Service Details

Organisation Details

Description of activity

PaCiP is the parent carer forum for Windsor and Maidenhead and we provide a service for parents and carers of children and young people 0-25 years, with any special educational needs and disabilities, with or without a diagnosis, with or without an EHCP and in any, or no educational placement

We are run by a Volunteer Steering Group. We are responsible for understanding and representing the views of other parents and carers in the local area to health, education and social care.

Our Mission

PaCiP is currently a small, welcoming, positive, forward thinking group of courageous parents and carers whose mission is :-

To grow a quality membership of parents and carers who have a desire to participate and share our vision.
To be the first choice, as the group to come to, of our children and young people’s service providers, for co-production, participation and consultation.
To be involved at a strategic level with education, healthcare and social care leaders, to make a difference to the provision and outcomes for our SEND children and young people.
To be proactive in identifying opportunities that will improve the outcomes for our children and young people and have the connections within education, health and social care to get these listened to in a considered way.
To achieve the above, parents and carers get involved in a range of activities from coffee mornings where we listen to what concerns are and run surveys, but also take some time for ourselves as carers – some recent activities have been chocolate making and mini massages. We also run larger consultation events for example parent reps were involved in creating the Inclusion Charter.

We are accountable to parents and carers in the local area and our grant givers -the DfE via Contact a Family

For a provision to be funded by the Local Authority, a child or young person will need to meet eligibility criteria and an assessment of need will be carried out to identify if provision is required.
